PSP and DS cut its life short. It launched in 2001, DS and PSP in 2004.

To all you negative Vita haters,

The system may have not sold well to this point, but you are all acting like, the holiday season is not the sales boost for all hardware, like it really is. The next 2/3 months are massive (bigger than the rest of the year combined) for the gaming industry, the vita is receiving games and will sell better because of it. But don't just dismiss it so easily, as i've said before, come to these "vita is dying" conclusions AFTER christmas, then you can say whatever you like about the vita

This is a Vita in japan sales thread. I agree that Vita is receiving great support in the west (if it will bring sales, that's another question), but what you're saying does not apply to japan. Vita has probably one of the worst holiday japanese line-up ever, especially for a system that young and in need of a big game in the most "massive" period of the year.

It just seems like nearly every vita thread is negative or hating on it in some way. I'm sure sony has got something for vita in japan though, but it's probably not ready to show off yet. I don't get why sony didn't get monster hunter for vita though, after how well, they sold on PSP. That game or a final fantasy is all vita needs in Japan

Ah, yes, sometimes I forget I didn't get the DS until it's third year. GBA's life was cut short. One has to wonder, with a system that sold so well in the beginning, where it could've end up.
