I really liked Reach campaign too but it was quite different compared to previous Halo FPS. The setting and characters were much more dreary which I found quite jarring. Personally I prefer the Halo 3 characters and settings. Reach depressed me. Which I guess was sort of the point as we know the planet was to fall to the Covenant and Noble Team was wiped out in the process.

Great Underated Game!

While Halo Reach is somewhat different to the mainline entries, I would definitely agree that the game is great all around. Same goes for ODST. Their more human approach (as opposed to the super hero approach caused by the focus on Master Chief) made the campaigns more touching. As a result I pretty much play the first three games for the action and the last two for their story/action combo.

Got it the day it came out and wasn't really impressed with it like I was with Halo 3.



But then, we played through it again earlier this year and it was the most awesome thing, ever. Enjoyed it so much that I went back and bought Halo Anniversary and Halo ODST. Great game with a somber mood. The last moments of the campaign really stand out. Survive.

Glad you enjoyed it. Reach is a fantastic title. Is it as good as 3? Not sure. Any Halo title has that really awesome gameplay. But I think storywise 3 was the best so far. Just such a shame Bungie are lazy from a technical standpoint. 3 would have been epic with Halo 4's production.

Man Halo 4 technically is amazing. The storytelling fromm what watched is sooo good.

It lacked the overarching Forerunner mythology, but it was a solid game
