Well, I'm not much of CoD games anyways so I'll be getting this day one as well. I wonder if they're going to bring back that other Mario RPG series. Bowser's Inside Story was really fun.

There's leveling up, but not by killing enemies, but by solving puzzles - which makes sense, since there's no FP or BP anymore, as both seems to be substituted by the stickers:

more levels - more space for stickers (same as FP)

special stickers with abilities - (most BP cases) - you can equip a frog suit and do a multi-bounce for example.

I guess I'll just have to play it and see for myself. No partners either it seems (I try not to look at info about the games I already know I'm gonna buy, as not to spoil anything). I hope I enjoy this game regardless of all the weird decisions.

Imo it's a good thing they're shaking up the series a bit. Keeps things from getting stale, as well as making it easier for newcomers to get into. If they just kept the old games' mechanics, but made them more elaborate with each new title, things would get hard to get into I imagine.
Originality is a good thing, this game looks to be a quality title, and I for one can't wait! :D
Besides, it's not like this is Super Paper Mario 2 or something...

Not too thrilled by the stickers usage but I may grow to love it and anything beats Super Paper Mario.
