Well they could use a cut in Europe and Japan.(wont do much in Japan though)

Its been 4 years since the last one. In every competitive market that must be a new record. But the 2 reasons I can think of are: price drop now before next gen hype truly overtakes 360 demand and MS doesnt want the image of being last place before the generation ends (after next xbox release im sure they wouldnt care).

Xbox has been very competitive in Japan with a very low entry price (most accessible sku was half the european's price)

th i don't think you have a point. If abything XBOX has everyreason to keep the price high :

positions the XBOX brand as high-end

it increases revenue per sold sku

keeps retail & distribution happy

naturally targets users with a high willingness to pay

What?360 in japan is 29800yen(250GB without Kinect)=$379US=291euro before yesterday(Oct 4,right now it's 19800yen)
