Forums - Gaming - LOL, there goes the Gametrailers is biased in 360/PS3 comparison argument.

Watched the video... There isn't a big difference but there is a difference. Not that I'm surprised, the previous thread motivated me to mess with my PS3 settings and there is more color depth and richer blacks using Full RGB.

Again, this changes nothing because the 360 would see benefit from this, too. Maybe not quite as much as the PS3, but it would gain something from HDMI and Full RGB.

Ug, what amazes me is that THIS is what people are arguing about in PS3 vs 360. Congrats guys, you're arguing over a barely noticeable difference in graphics.

Edit - if you're one of those people who argues the difference is huge, go outside.

The youtube video was much more interesting, but i'm pretty sure you can get the same result if you have your TV adjusted to perfect levels using one of those THX DVDs or whatever they are.

Can't you guys read?

"Here are the results from a PS3 Test Unit!"

That's how they recorded it. DUH.

Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

Ah-ha. I missed that small text below.

Well, that explains how they captured HDMI.

My friend said he did it and told me how great the difference was.

Unbiased opinion he owns both. as for me I dont have hdmi so i have no clue,

Ugh, who cares? These comparisons are so pointless. The difference is never big enough that it should in any way effect someone's decision of which console to purchase anyway. All that matters is if it runs smoothly.

I agree with this, but some people seem to care anyway. Usually I personally see no difference at all, but then some people will come in and say they see some huge difference and wow the 360/PS3 sure looks much better.

People, they captured HDMI on a debug PS3. That isn't a reasonable way to capture this stuff (if you're going to at all, as Naz states). Unless you want the comparison to be:

Generic 360 unit

vs.

A PS3 unit you cannot possibly own and is not available to the public

Now that would be unfair.

Agreed, sad when they actualy claim that they are trying to inform people about the differences when all they wrote on the AC video was troll bait. i bet GT just want the hits from flame wars. Theyve been getting a lot of attention lately.
i guess any kind of publicity is good publicity.

i lost my respect for their comparison videos when i saw AC.

No you CANNOT RECORD HDMI

According to rocketpig, this is false.

Leo-j please stop talking out of your ass! You can easily record via HDMI, the case is that you're immediately considered illegal due to copyright issues from the HDMI foundation association.

Blackmagic Design announces, HDMI Capture card for $249

We all knew the time would come when the studios would have reason to enable HDCP and it appears that it may be time. Someone correct us if we're wrong, but this device, named Intensity, looks like it will enable consumers to record via HDMI and for only $249. Considering the costs of other HD recording options this is pretty resonably priced and will without a doubt put fear in studio execs everywhere. This doesn't come out until October, but we'll look forward to seeing it in action. It's interesting that it doesn't record component video, it might be worth picking up a converter to make sure you are covered.
