That is a nice jump.
Wonder how much is (a) replacement vs. new buyer; (b) spurred by price cuts on old model;
spurred by new model; (d) spurred by FIFA 13.
It is times like this which made me wish we knew unique buyers for each console and consoles-in-use numbers. We keep thinking of consoles as discrete, one-time purchases while there are always upgrades, replacements, etc. -- and even more this time as the generation continues forever. In other words, raw hardware sales only tells a part of the story. I imagine developers would love to know if x% of Xbox 360s sold have been traded in or if y% of Wiis are collecting dust.
