I was just wondering how do people manage to hack these accounts? Im not an xbox user myself im just curious as to how they hack these accounts, I know its not as simple as guessing someones password lol

Also being mainly a ps3 gamer do I have the same chance on my psn account being hacked? or is it because xbox live costs money to use that hackers are interested in obtaining these accounts?

The majority of Xbox Live accounts that are hacked aren't even hacked. The victims are idiots who gave out their account information to someone willing "to help them". Trust me, I've had Xbox Live for a long time and I haven't been hacked. I have been asked for my credentials so I could get help, nope. I told that loser that I had reported him.

Also, PSN itself was hacked, not mainly the accounts. While Xbox Live (itself) is harder to hack, the accounts are easier to get due to programs and modded consoles. PSN offers better security for the individual while Live has a better security infrastructure. Seriously, if people didn't give out info then we wouldn't be hearing so much of these accidents.

Phishing seems to be a thing on Xboxlive.

Yeah I just thought it must be something deeper than people giving away information about their accounts, I remember a while back there was a report on something to do with fifa causing xbox accounts to be hacked.

XBL is hackable not just through phishing.
Some guy on 4chan hacked into major nelson a couple years back.
It might not be a hack, but a password crack or generator doohickey
