Forums - Gaming - A question about the Dragon Age: Origins?

Has anyone else had problems with lag in this game besides me?  I am forcing myself to struggle through this game because it is only one of three or four games that I own that I haven't beaten.  I'm fairly close to the end now, at least I think I am, but it is getting old.  If I remember correctly, the game was designed originally for the 360 which may explain the issue since I'm playing it on PS3.  I usually don't have problem with lag in games, but this is by far the worst lag I have ever played, even compared to old NES and Genesis games.  End rant.

actualy i think i read that this game plays a little better on ps3 , but yes , it lags a lot.

bioware loves this problem and aparently cant solve it, i got lag in all of their games for ps3(dragon age 2 runs almost without it), i saw people saying mass effect lags too on 360. Hope that with the new engine dragon age 3 will be free lag.

Yea, this game would be so much better if they would have added a hard-drive install to assist throughput or something.  The lag just makes it so annoying I just want to finish it so I can get it out of my life.  I haven't gotten to DA2 yet.  Played the demo and it seems pretty good, but I am not too sure after this game.  Actually, I think this is the only BioWare game I've played.

Yes, this game has a very high lag on PS3. On 360 it runs better but looks worse.

One of the DLC parts of this game is both difficult and laggy essentially making it almost unplayable.

Usually I'd say uninstall reinstall game data, but the patches at this point might take forever

Bet with gooch_destroyer, he wins if FFX and FFX-2 will be at $40 each for the vita. I win if it dont

I didn't really have an issues with DAO on PS3 or the expansion pack.

i have played all the major bioware titles on xbox and never had much lag in any of them, DAO did have the most laggy moments but that was mostly the clunkness of the combat system.
All comparisons i have seen shown they looked better on xbox anyway though

Never really noticed much lag in DA:O on PS3, sure there was a bit, but nothing too bad. And I've platinumed it, so I've played through it a few times.

According to reviews PC version>>>>>>>>>>>>PS3 version>360 version.

“The fundamental cause of the trouble is that in the modern world the stupid are cocksure while the intelligent are full of doubt.” - Bertrand Russell

"When the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will know peace."

Never played DA:O on a PS3/360, but the game has a memory leak issue on the PC version, which causes extremely long loading times and massive lag spikes after a couple of hours playtime, which forces you to quit the game and restarting it to get it back to playable levels.

There might be a similar issue with the console versions, try looking into the Bioware forums.

A friend of mine has played it on PS3 and he loved it. I played it on PC and it crushed a few times but it ran fine overall.

I played it on PS3 60GB Launch System. Never noticed intense lag. The game is playable.  I played Dark Souls and noticed lag. I played Dragons Dogma, and I noticed lag. No real lag for Dragons Age Origins.
