Forums - Nintendo Discussion - GameStop halts Wii U pre-orders due to 'overwhelming demand'

The PS3 argument is solid. There will always be hardcore fans of upcoming consoles willing to pay anything for a day 1-purchase.

The argument where Nintendo supposedly shipped too few units to make it appear as a great seller, however, is ridiculous. They would only have potential units sold to lose, and extremely little to gain from a "best-selling" reputation.

Let's see how well their second, third and fourth shipments sell.

The first five million buy the console regardless of price or launch line up.

Ongoing bet with think-man: He wins if MH4 releases in any shape or form on PSV in 2013, I win if it doesn't.

This again? oh wait, now it's basic model that flies of the lists...

And proud member of the Mega Mario Movement!

Going to be a killer launch for Wii U it seems. November 30th is nearly here. Yay!

its clear, nintendo is doomed

it appaers like Nintendo is going to make profit this year again.

What? People are per-ordering a console that launches in two months and at the very end of a console generation? I've never heard the likes of it in my life.

The news here is it is completely sold out so what is the point of your comment?

This is fairly common for both hardware and software, that's my point. Amazon and baby seals and all that.

So you came to this thread just to say, every new platform does this, even though I don't remember this happening for the Vita? But maybe I'm wrong and it did. Are you sure you don't hate Ninty? You seem to only post negative things about them.
