The recent annnouncement of Kingdom Hearts 1.5 remix for PS3 has some people guessing that we'll see THIS on WiiU as well.  Personally, I don't.  The Enix branch of S-E may be generous and support Nintendo with DQX, but the Square branch never will.  That's why they're never bringing FF to WiiU, and that's why they will NOT bring KH to WiiU.  Let's face it:  Square will avoid WiiU and NEVER make any games for it.  THIS included.

Never say never ...

I didn't really mean any of that!  I was just ranting!  Sorry!

Well, Nintendo is partly to blame because they often have a different Controller. The PS2 and PS3 have an almost identical controller.

Square has a reason why they support Sony consoles... the sales numbers are just the highest.

Final Fantasy XIII 4.76/6.77= 71,94 % on PS 3
Final Fantasy XIII-2 79,55% on PS3
NieR 0.49/0,67 = 67,12 %
Star Ocean was a late port, so a comparison wouldn't be fair

It is a shame that Square-Enix has released so few games in this generation (if oyu are not counting the games developped by western studios).

And the Final Fantasy Cyrstal Chronicles games after the first one on the gamecube simply failed to reach 1 Million despite the huge install base.

Squares true strenght lies in the art of japanese storytelling. To be honest, Nintendo is not really good at storytelling and does little to draw the interest of their gamer to story-intensive games. Sonys first party games try to be interesting and games like Uncharted tried to tell a story and work with their characters (well, for an action-oriented game.)

Sonys PS1 and PS2 were full of strong japanese Games like Final Fantasy, Kingdom Hearts, Resident Evil, Metal Gear Solid, making people comfortable with japanese games. They simply are different to western games.

GTA, Red Dead Redemption, CoD or Oblivion may have huge sales, but they are simply no linear story-oriented singleplayer games, like the most famous japanese games (outside Nintendo). The Xbox brought PC-Gaming to the consoles and divided the fanbase somehow (like open world and non-linearity are superior etc., every game should have online mulitplayer modes) leading to a shift in how games are reviewed.

All in all I think Square has the greatest potential of success on Sony consoles because Sony just tries to offer diversity... Nintendo is mainly focused on Jump 'n 'run (Mario, Donkey Kong, Kirby), Action-Adventure (Zelda) or family games. Even their JRPG Pokemon is lacking a true story with character development, so a fan of Pokemon might not be interested with a mainline Final Fantasy Game... The Xbox is focused on shooter, WRPGS and online-gaming...

Sonys first Party alone has shooter (Resistance, Uncharted... and Uncharted did start as Singleplayer game!), Jump and Run/Shoot (Ratchet and Clank, Jak and Dexter, Sly, Little Big Planet), Hack n Slay (God of War, Heavenly Sword) and supported even an almost dead genre with Heavy Rain. They are going for diversity at the cost of a clear mascot...

Square could get onto other consoles... But even if the install base will be higher, I doubt that the range for true potential customers for storybased games will not increase that much. A Crystal Bearer on the Wii and FF XIII on the XBOX showed that it is difficult to sell these kind of games because most gamers are simply interested in other game designs. And lets be honest... there simply is a limit of dedicated fans to whom you can sell a JRPG. It will never sell like COD or GTA because these games are very simplistic and can be played even casually. But to finish a JRPG you have to be dedicated to the game which not every gamer will be able to. FF and Kingdom Hearts were sort of "casual-friendly" because the grinding was limited as the final bosses were not that hard.

This time around, though, Nintendo DOES have a Pro Controller, and S-E DOES have the option to take advantage of that.

I'm thinking its not. If it were, or if they were even thinking about it, they would have mentioned it. If KH3 does come to WiiU, I can see ports of 1 and 2 going to WiiU then.

Yeah, I think in order for that to happen, KH3 will have to be announced for WiiU, which I am still sure it may be.

But Wii have DQX version. I think that is bigger than KH.

DKCTF didn't move consoles

Prediction: No Zelda HD for Wii U, quietly moved to the succesor

Predictions for Nintendo NX and Mobile

i think they will support it soon or later, Nintendo's games alone will sell the WiiU and since it kicks off with great 3rd party support, the thing is if it can last

DQX is the best support, and Disney already supports!

don't mind my username, that was more than 10 years ago, I'm a different person now, amazing how people change ^_^

Hmm. If it were to be announced for wii U, then KH3 for wii u would practically be confirmed. I'm excited for this hd collection though, I wish kh2 would've been included. :(

Does anyone know any news on FFX HD? They've been awfully quiet about it.

All of this, of course, is just my opinion.
