More Wii U Games Coming From Capcom

The only game that Capcom have announced for the Wii U thus far is Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, but more are on the way, says Capcom USA’s senior vice-president, Christian Svensson.

In reply to a member of the Capcom forums who asked about Wii U support aside from Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, Svensson stated: “For now, that’s what we’ve announced. Yes.”

He continued: “And there are many thousands of people who are thrilled with the announcement of what is our currently largest brand coming to Nintendo’s existing portable and new console platform. The significance of that should not be underestimated.”

In another thread, Svensson replied to a similar query, this time confirming that other Wii U projects are indeed in the works.

“I have to be careful what I say here as it will surely be overanalyzed and misinterpreted to be more than what I’m saying,” Svensson warned.

He then confirmed: “We have other projects in the works beyond MH3 Ultimate. Unfortunately at this time I can not provide any details. I’m sure as someone who is interested in Wii U and a Capcom-Unity.com member, you won’t be able to miss news of future projects when they finally do get announced.”

Ace Attorney 5 Sales Forecasts Are “Aggressive” Say Capcom USA

Capcom were quick to announce a western release for Ace Attorney 5, but there hasn’t been any word on spin-off title, Ace Attorney Investigations 2, seeing a western release in any form yet.

Asked if high sales of Ace Attorney 5 and the upcoming Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy HD release on iOS would help sway a localization decision, Capcom USA Senior Vice-President, Christian Svensson, says it wouldn’t hurt.

“AAI2 isn’t being held hostage so please don’t read this that way but if they do well, they certainly can’t hurt,” Svensson says on the Capcom forums. “Justification for higher forecasts via stronger than expected sales in the franchise would be helpful.”

Svensson also added another important point that fans may like to know.

“Bear in mind… the forecasts for AA5 I’ve put in are aggressive (high) relative to the historical performance of the franchise (needed to make sure it came over), so I’m counting on you guys to not make me a liar.”

I think that MH3 Ultimate is a good sign of Capcom support for the new platform. Enforces the impression that Ninty consoles are way to go for die-hard MH fans.

Yeah.  This surely means we'll see Capcom bring their franchises to the console, and not halfhearted attempts either.

That's it. I'm buying five copies new.

I would tell you not to trust Sven either way, buying or not buying... but since MH really came over after everybody completely lost hope in him, maybe yeah, go for it!

BTW... the fantranslation project is almost complete! Bet it will release before Sven study the iOS game sales.

Capcom should just release the whole series on iOS and make new entries as timed exclusives (port to iOS two or more years later). It will save many people the hassle of looking for used copies online. :P

They will probably do that. Charge premium from us, proud japanese game supporters... then 4.99 from rich ipad people...

But have you seen the iOS games?  The transtion was not exactly great, the artwork was scaled up then smoothed, which is not ideal imo. The pixel work from the games was lost.

Well, the same can be said about these new 3D games, let's see if they can keep the original feeling. So far, I think they look great, as seen in the Ace Attorney vs Professor Layton trailer.
