Wal Mart is holding strong with both versions (Deluxe and Basic) still available on their own or as part of the Wal Mart Solution Bundle, which adds a Wii Remote Plus and a choice of a Wii U game to either system. The Solution Bundle is $400 for the Basic set or $450 for the Deluxe.

Wii all over again...and that's great! I expect Wii U to be the leader of the whole next generation (when it comes to home consoles).

We need moar Unchartedzz!

We need less DLCs.

Nintendo's at it again, and they're stepping it up with Wii U. I wasn't aware during the Wii's release. I guess I'll relive in with Wii U ;)

Hope this is indicative of Wii-esque launch (without so many shortages). I want everyone who wants one to have one. Nintendo needs to sell as many units as possible.

Werent there less PS3's to sell anyways

Launch is a month away. They likely gave retailers a cap based on a conservative estimate of what is expected from production. If they can exceed that number, then expect pre-orders to open up once more.

Also, Wal-mart has been their preferred partner for launches, so they were likely given a much, much higher cap. There is no telling how much room they have left.

I wish we knew how many systems were pre-ordered in total and how many of the pre-orders went to scalpers ...

Personally, I hope Nintendo ships some extreme number of systems this holiday season to crush scalpers. The guys who buy 10+ pre-orders from multiple retailers just to re-sell them for 2 to 3 times their original price need to find themselves with a surplus of systems that sell for less than retail because Nintendo shipped far more systems than anyone could anticipate.
