". Bayonetta has fans the world over, and we would never dream of alienating them from participating in the future of Platinum Games.

That being said, the console games market is in a state of upheaval, so establishing a new game franchise requires a considerable amount of will, determination, and love. Bayonetta is a brand that we want to see become stronger, reaching the hands of more and more gamers, so we have continued to consult with Sega, the previous game’s publisher, on how we can make sure this takes place. Our answer was a new partnership with Nintendo."

O_o So they put it exclusively on a console with currently 0 install base and unlikely to get a substantial install base for a game like this any time soon.

Fine to move from being multiplat to exclusive and ditching the previous consoles. But don't talk bullshit while you're announcing it. Just come out and say that Nintendo were keen to help publish the game, you were happy to take up their offer, and Sega gave it the nod. Don't pretend that the game is going to reach more people on a new console than the original game did on 2 consoles with substantial install bases. People don't like it when you think they are fools and can get away with saying anything.

Do what you want, but be honest about it.

New/niche games have a better chance of selling well on a new console. Customers are more open-minded at that time than they are mid to late gen.

If it was on PS360, it would probably have sold worse than the first considering how saturated the sales of those consoles are thanks to a gen that has been going on to long.

Maybe with the attention it will get by being exclusive on a system with a still-small library and Nintendo marketing it on TV plus MiiVerse, it'll sell really well.

Do you have any evidence to back up the claim that a niche game franchise switching from 2 console multiplat to a 3rd console exclusive for the 2nd game in the series at the beginning of that 3rd console's life does better than the original game?

Uhm...so anyways, like I said...new IPs and niche games have a good chance of selling well at the start of a new generation because customers are more open-minded at that time and the game would  be competing against a smaller library of games.

There's a reason why the start of new generations usually see alot of new IPs released. Ubisoft's CEO talked about this a few months ago.

I don't even know why I'm wasting my time arguing this. If Nintendo didn't pick this game up it wouldn't exist AT ALL. Enough with the saltiness and bitterness.

Even if this was true, putting the title on all three consoles would still result in the most sales.

Yes, and you could say the same for Mario, Halo and God of War.....  No one seems to complain when the game they like is exclusive to the system they like do they?  There's a continuous pissing match on the forums between Xbox 360 & PS3 fans as to who has more or better exclusives.  I own all the systems, so I get to choose whatever game I want, and all three current systems have some great games....

That's because people know where to expect the games that they like. When you start off a series on two consoles and then jump straight to a new console people will obviously be upset (although that other thread shows that some go beyond ridiculous levels).

Yes, Nintendo saved the series (from what I understand) and all Bayonetta fans should be grateful, but acting as if this move was made to broaden their fanbase is wrong. Sure, it is possible that the Wii U will expand their audience, but securing their current fans before anything else would, if possible, be a smarter move. It would be beyond risky to ignore the PS3/360 users.

Like Rol said, they did what they had to in order to keep the series alive. I can understand why they have made these claims, but it's still bullshit.

So if this game had been announced for PS4 and 720, there would have been outrage?

Nope, chances are that these people (PS/360 users who complain) generally don't like Nintendo games and don't want to buy Nintendo consoles for just one exclusive franchise. I mean, would you rather pay $50 or $350 for one single game?

-Good guy nintendo saves a game that probably would never have come out.

-Fans of said game hate nintendo for doing it.

makes complete sense to me... u_u

Right then.

Most of the bitching is people who just don't like Nintendo and are mad this isn't on their console of choice but that's obvious by the stupid comments around the net.

Bayonetta fans who don't have this bias have had no problem saying they will buy WiiU so they can play on of their favorite franchises since, you know, sensible people buy hardware for software they want.

And last tine I checked, WiiU doesn't only have one single game nor are its' games just Nintendo games. It has an extremely solid launch line-up that includes many 3rd party games of which a good few are exclusives.

These people are just fanboys who probably consider themselves too 'hardcore' for Nintendo consoles. No one cares if  fanboys want to get salty.

I know! Nintendo should fund the game and make multiplatform!
Brilliant!

im not mad at this situation, its all good. What is BS is the lying and deception. I'm supposed to believe that making a sequel to a game that was released on TWO consoles and putting that sequel on ONE which isnt even the follow up to the two I mentioned is supposed to expand the audience?? f**k outta here, just tell the truth, the game was getting canned Ninty came and saved it. The real story isnt even bad, or just dont say nothing

I guess is a diplomatic answer. Althought, Kamiya on twitter could tell the truth.

Edit: Wait. Sega did already. Nintendo fund the game.

Which makes PG look even more foolish and full of crap. You would have to have been really ignorant to believe that line they were trying to feed people
