 Does anyone outhere know if there is a page or someway to know if your monitor is compatible with PS3, or does Sony intend to release some PS3 to Monitor cable a la Xbox, and do you know something about Nintendo and this issue.

Does your monitor have component hookups? HDMI hookups?

a pc monitor is just like a small High Def screen, so yes, you can link up ur PS3 or 360 to one. What you would need is a HDMI > DVI cable, like this:

You then plug the HDMI into the PS3, and the DVI into the Monitor and voila, ur PS3 is connected to ur monitor. (Most monitors nowdays use DVI inputs, but some still use VGA, which is not high def and is analogue. You will need to find out which ur monitor has first before you buy anything.)

You need to note that there will be no sound output unless u hook up your own speakers to the Digital out.

That's not entirely true there Tk, VGA it is high definition but it is as u so rightly mentioned its an analouge signal. Component cables are also HiDef but the signal is analogue as well.

I can only speak for the X360 but......

All you need to hook a X360 upto any 15-pin VGA computer monitor, is a X360>VGA addapter. They're around $40 new from Microsoft. It allows the X360 to export the resolution to a decent bit of native monitor resolutions.

The VGA Connector includes (1) VGA output, and (1) Sterio L/R outputs. Therefore, you need speakers for your computer monitor still.

Absolutely FANTASTIC way to get HDTV-like quality on a much cheaper system. I litterally used a monitor I found in a dumpster, and get 720p graphics.

Hello, thanks, my monitor, does have digital input, DVI/D, but I was reading in some other forums that this may not be enough, so I was worried abouth that.

For Wii, if your monitor has a component/composite/s-video inputs, you can buy the respective cable.
If not you have to buy an external vga box such as 1. xcm 1080p 2. x2vga
xcm1080 even come with a 3-to-1 component cable for Xbox360, PS3, and Wii.

For the PS3 the HDMI->DVI cable should work fine.

For a Wii I would suggest the X2VGA2. It's a transcoder that'll convert component signals to VGA. I use it with my Wii and my TFT LCD monitor and it looks really nice. The only thing you should be aware of is that monitors can't display 480i so any 480i games you may own or VC games which I think are entirely 480i can't be played on a monitor unless you're using something else like a TV tuner or capture card. The X2vga2 does come with something called 480i easyview incase your system is set in 480i when you hook it up or changing discs or something however it's a weird workaround where the screen flickers and is fuzzy and you can only see about half the screen at a time so it isn't playable at all.
