Brigandine: Grand Edition for PSX.

Beavis and Butthead Virtual Stupidity for PSX.

Mobile Suit Gundam One Year War for PS2.

Gundam Battle Universe for PSP.

There are more good Gundam games that haven't been released here and that's because after the Namco Bandai merger, rarely will they release anything that won't sell huge numbers to the west. Gundam in Japan is like Dragon Ball Z everywhere. It's a highly praised franchise, so that's why there are so many actual good releases to the series. I've only listed my favorites.

I acually never played a Gundam Wing game before at all. Is there a specific localized one which you think is best? How does Emblem of Gundam for the DS stand up? Do you know if any of these recommendations have fan translations?

I haven't played any fan translations, so I don't know, sorry.  I also haven't played Emblem of Gundam either, but I think it plays like Gihren's Greed.  Atleast it looks like it plays like it.  Gihren's Greed is a turn based strategy game.  Think, sortof, Advanced Wars with mobile suits.

All the Gundam games I recommended are English friendly.  You won't be able to understand anything(unless you can speak or read Japanese,) but the options are simple to navigate and there aren't many options to go through.  Without getting a fan translation you'd be fine.  Gihren's Greed/Ambition would be text heavy, so I'd avoid those.  I can recommend you some Gundam games that have been localized in English though.  These are all PS2 games.

Mobile Suit Gundam Encounters in Space.  The gameplay is both an on rails shooter as well as many other points in the game where you're fighting a group of enemies or a boss in a large open area and not restricted to the on rails environment.  Sort of like Zone of Enders gameplay.  There is one main storyline which is the second half of the original Mobile Suit Gundam, then there are Ace Pilot modes, one which follows two thirds of Stardust Memory, some others like the Black Tri Stars, etc.  There's a versus mode which you can play against another player, and then there's a mission mode where the better you do, the more points you get for eight missions to build your own custom pilot.

Mobile Suit Gundam Federation vs Zeon.  Not as good as Gundam vs Gundam, but is what Gundam vs Gundam started as.  It's basically a very slow paced version of Gundam vs Gundam if you will.  It's a good game, but it does have its problems.  The game has an arcade mode, but there is a campaign mode which let's you go through 100+ missions as either a Federation pilot or a Zeon pilot.  You collect upgraded suits along the way.  Finish the normal mode with both Federation and Zeon and you can unlock  the hard mode which you'll start with every suit you can collect in the game, but your suits won't ever recover any damage.

Mobile Suit Gundam Gundam vs Zeta Gundam is the same as Federation vs Zeon except the campaign mode is different and it also includes suits from Zeta Gundam.  The campaign mode has the Zeta Gundam story and multiple what if scenario's.  Once you play through Amuro in the Zeta Gundam scenario, you'll unlock 0079 scenarios(the original Gundam.)  Gundam vs Zeta Gundam also has an arcade mode, but one thing that stands out with this game is there is a extra option mode.  Each battle you complete in Gundam vs Zeta Gundam gives you points.  These points can be taken to this extra mode to unlock music in the game, character models, mobile suit models, warship models, etc.  There a ton of stuff to unlock.  There's not much you can do with any of this and it's only for looks, but you might make your way through 100% of all scenarios available in the game, which there are a lot, and still not unlock everything in this extra mode.

Gundam Battle Assault and Battle Assault 2 on the PSX are also good.  These are fighting games.

Is Zone of Enders better of a game or worse?

I only watched a couple episodes of Zeta Gundam, but I liked it. Maybe after I watch that show, my anime to watch list is narrowing. Watching Darker then Black now.

Gundam Battle Assault and Battle Assault 2 on the PSX are also good.  These are fighting games.

Thanks for the recommendations. I'll check out some of these, I like to own and good game from an anime I like.
