Forums - Gaming - Is a 3DS XL really worth it?

So tempting......but all of my accessories go with the original 3DS. If not for that, I'd grab one today!

That's why I held off buying any accessory for the 3DS until the XL model was out. I figured out that I was eventually going to get it, so i'd rather wait until they'd release the XL version of those accessories as well.

Though to be honest, the XL version of the CPP will probably make the handheld look enormous .

I'm waiting for it myself so I can finally buy Revelations XD.

I feel like you won't get one but since I can't just leave without helping a person in need....

Yes, it is, especially if you haven't bought a 3DS yet!

Lulz i also wont buy any more games that use the CCP until they release it

Well, I've already have KH:3D Dream Drop Distance, which uses the CPP for better camera controls, but since i'm used to the BBS camera scheme, the normal non-CPP controls didn't bother me much, except for the occasional annoyance with Dream Spirits linking while trying to perform a quick auto-aim (since both the autoaim and quick-DS linking is made with L+R combo in the A scheme).

It fits fully in my side pocket, the screen size is really nice, and my hands don't hurt from long periods of playing, so I'd say it's better than the 3DS for sure.

To me it is worth every penny and really what the 3DS should have been. The screens make a huge difference to me and little things like the stylus being solid piece, hinges being sturdier and matte finish are all improvements.

On size, I have no issue fitting it in my pocket, but nothing else goes in said pocket.

I'll have to agree that the 3DS XL is what the original 3DS should've been for all the points mentioned above. Now would be the time to buy a 3DS XL if you haven't bought one already.

I don't know why people tell me to get a life. I'm a gamer, I have lots of lives!

Thats the main game that i want atm that uses the CCP, so i hope they release it soon. If not ill get it and play it anyway in a few weeks, but id just like to use the CCP

I couldn't wait for the CPP to release to get KH:3D and i'm glad I didn't. It's probably the best KH game so far to me, and i've played them all XD.

Plus, it looks glorious on the 3DS XL .

3DS XL just a better device. Screen is huge (relative to DS), and it is essential.

I always wonder why games journalists, who should have seen everything, are so dense when it comes to actually playing a game. This particular mini game is not meant to be controlled like this.

On topic: The XL is a vast improvement over the OG model imho. The speakers are fine imho. So is the screen color, at least on my model. The ergonomics are better, the L- and R-buttons and the digipad are better. I regularly switch between Vita, iPad3 and 3DS XL and I can deal with the decreased dpi just fine.

Buy the XL or you will always look at your OG 3DS and think about how there is a better version out there. It's the iPhone effect :P

Ongoing bet with think-man: He wins if MH4 releases in any shape or form on PSV in 2013, I win if it doesn't.
