Why do some people have multiple 360's or PS3's under the same roof?   Is it so you don't have to move it from room to room?  Is it so you don't have to share with a sibling or even a parent?  I really don't see why even these two reasons would justify purchasing the same console.   Maybe I just don't see the point because I never had much money and value owning just a single console per generation.   I am really not trying to be an ass.  I am genuinely curious.

My parents always bought my brother and I separate handheld consoles when we were younger because... well who wants to share?

We have also owned two consoles at one time (I think it was two PS2's) because I asked my mom for my own. It got annoying having to ask my brother over and over just to play a game.

I used to have 2 ps3's, too lazy to move the thing and the cables around. One was primarily for blu-rays, other for playing games in the living room. It was far from ideal though, some games won't let you transfer saves and some downloads won't let you play on another physical console within a 24 hour window.

Since one broke I have stuck to using one. The cables are all still there anyway, moving it back and forth is a lot easier then transferring saves. I don't even bother plugging the network cable in anymore, wifi works fine.

With me, there's multiple reasons for having two 360's.

FIrst off, there's not enough room for Kinect in my gaming room. I had to have a 360 in my living room to use the device (and yes, we love Kinect in my household).

I have a TON of stuff connected to my TV's. All of the cables are bound together with wire ties so it looks very professional. I'd have a really hard time moving from one room to another.

My family (especially my daughter) loves the 360. Too often, she wants to play a game at the same time that I want to play a game. It's just easier to go to a different room and play on another HDTV.

The new version is much improved. Before getting the 250GB slim, I was down to a couple of GB on my 60GB 360. I still wasn't convinced that the older 360 wouldn't explode, either. It still works perfectly but I didn't want to take that chance.

Online co-op in the same house. It's pretty sweet.
