So is NSMB U going to be $60?

Maybe... it's 6000 yen... same price as Super Mario Bros Wii.

But japan prices for software is something that we can't really compare. It's a crazy system.

Hmmm, NSMB Wii was also 6000 Yen in Japan?

Well, time to wait for the NA Nintendo Direct.

I guess there is a second software centric ND from Japan in a few hours/minutes.

I think it's 10 A.M. EST for the NA Nintendo Direct.

So Nintendoland won't be a pack-in game? Hmm..
Then again, neither was Wii Sports in Japan right? They might bundle it in the west, after all. Would seem like a smart move to me.

Also... Gosh darn at that Gamepad price!! Just wow! I doubt many games will utilize 2-gamepad gameplay when they're that expensive! :O

"GPGPU." Main mem: 1 GB. System: 1 GB. Total: 2GB.

The GPGPU is GREAT NEWS GUYS

That means if the CPU is clocked down it will not matter because it will be sharing with the GPU which they probably boosted way hight like reports so you will NOT have a bottleneck system.

Not was. Is. (5890 yen).

But with those store discounts first party games get the price usually goes down to 4800 yen. Crazy system.

Ah, yes. My bad.

You're correct that Wii Sports wasn't bundled in Japan--I have every confidence Nintendo Land will be bundled in North America.  They need it to prove to the general public that the concept of the console works.

Regarding the Gamepad, yeah I'm feeling sticker shock, too.  It's probably why they originally didn't even plan on supporting multiple GamePads at all.  Although, since no games do currently support two pads, I have to wonder what the point is of selling them separately at launch at all.

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

If they follow a similar strategy to what they did with 3DS (15,000 in Japan and 170 in US/EU) then it will probably be 299 and 349.

Edit: Oh, and the gamepad 149, damn.

Hmm, why?

15000 yen is 192 dollars.

So all points to a cheaper western price than the japanese price

Omg its so not expensive O_o (no sarcasm). Are they going to make a profit lol? Well Wii Sports was not bundled in Japan so i still believe Nintendoland will be bundled for U.S. :) So 279.99 US for basic and 349.99 US for Premium. DAY ONE PREMIUM FOR ME :D

Japan usually gets things a bit more expensive than us, too--I predict $250 and maybe $320 for us.

What is Nintendo Network Premium?  I don't get it.  Is it like Playstation Plus where you get certain rewards in exchange for a monthly subscription?

Yes they do, I think Nintendo does it because they can get away with it in its home country as they are the dominant player in that market; however, in the U.S., Microsoft and Sony are very much present (Microsoft is almost nonexistent in Japan). I still believe it will be 279.99 in the US with bundle, as the yen is very strong and eats up alot of its profits. I don't know honnestly, seems like a Playstation Plus thingy and a 10% return on digital game purchases???!! I'm a bit confused as you are.

Very possible.  NoJ said they're not getting a bundled game, but people forget that Japan's Wii didn't have Sports bundled in, either.  So, probably Nintendo Land in the $279 bundle and both Nintendo Land and a 'meatier' game like Mario or even Zombi U for the more expensive one.  One or both may come in the form of a download code to entice people to start using the Nintendo Network.

Good point. Americans consumers are a bit harder to attract (no pun intended) and a 279.99 price point with NintendoLand bundled would be a perfect. I can already sense the craziness, especially as the console will most likely release during both Black Friday and Christmas season shopping. One word resumes it perfectly: INSANITY! This system will sell like hot cakes. I didn't think about that, it would rather be a perfect way to attract consumers to visit their eshop. Hmmm not bad.
