Play Magazine also gave Sonic Next Gen a 9... which means they consider Turok the same quality level of Sonic Next Gen, which puts it's quality right about where I expect it to be.

Seriously though, is there a demo for the PC version out?

Acclaim was around for 17 years and developed/published hundreds of games. They were mostly just ports and lame licenses though.

I think Turok could be good actually. I'm hoping it's as fun as the N64 versions (doubtfull though).

this sums up my thoughts on the game from the demo

The knife and bow are over powered and certain weapons against certain variations of enemies offer suprising results (the biggest dinosaur in the demo which is a harmless plant eater takes one pistol round to kill, while the smallest dinosaur in the demo takes three)

sticky grenade attached to the 2nd biggest dinosaur in the demo blows it to pieces

sticky grenade #1 attached to one of the soldiers with the light gun knocks him over and he gets back up

sticky grenade #2 attached to one of the soldiers with the light gun knocks him over and he gets back up

sticky grenade #3 attached to one of the soldiers with the light gun knocks him over and he gets back up

sticky grenade #4 attached to one of the soldiers with the light gun knocks him over and he doesn't get back up

I played the Turok demo this morning. If they did in fact give it a 9/10, I want some of what they've been smoking.

I love Play magazine, it's such a well written well laid out read, but man their review scores are off sometimes XD. For the most part they review a game by what it accomplished via artistic style and direction. They're way to forgiving when it comes to actual gameplay though. Meh downloading the demo as we speak :P

I played about 10 minutes of the demo. It's trash.....I suppose this was to be expected though.
