Yeah.  Would've been an inevitability had Nintendo not killed it and brought the 3DS out while it was still doing well.  Nintendo doesn't care about this type of thing though.

It's much more important to Nintendo the long term viavility of the 3DS as a platform than this type of "wars". As some say sales is vanity, profit is sanity, cash is reality, and Nintendo is looking for long term profits more than short term sales of a dying platform as the DS is.

Sorry, I misread your post. Nintendo execs seem to be much more mature than the average forum user.



It is not a substantial loss, and much easier to to adjust to. It would be more of important move what they will do after. Seeing a price cut is even slimmer now (even after hearing it from Sony themselves). I truly now expect to see great announcements at Gamescom.
They may be strategically timing their news with Nintendo's Wii U.
