Currently the most likely figures are 1.7m for PS3 and 1.1m for PS2, though it is a little unclear about Sony's wording of "sales dropping" for PS3... ie is it referring to revenue, which could have dropped due to a price cut, or is it shipments. If it is the former, then yes the PS3 shipments may be above 2m (though probably not up to 2.4m as you had before edit) if it is the latter, then the PS3 shipments are definately under 1.8m (last years Q1)

No way PS2 shipped more than Wii this quarter.

So I guess 2.1m for PS3 and 700k for PS2.

I assume you meant PS2 there... but it is certainly possible as shipments don't follow sales (especially with PS2... last year it shipped 50% more in Q1 than it did in the holiday season)

Lucky Sony isn't sticking with the 10 year cycle. They can make good products but have no idea how to make money on them.

2.8M for PS3+PS2 means at least 2M for PS3 which is bad looking at last year numbers, But great compared to the fall other platforms had.

For FY 2012:  16m system (13m PS3 / 3m PS2)

Sony shipped 4.1 PS2 last year... so it dropped 27%.

1.4m - 27% = 1.02m

PS2: 1.02m
PS3: 1.77m

I think that people are looking at that 16 number and settings it in stone.  I sure it can be easily 16.4 or 15.7, which can alter things greatly.
