i think allyson felix is the most beautiful and elegant runner i have ever seen, obviously she has been around a while now but good to see its not all about raw power but grace and style too,i don't want all female athletes having to man up

here come the russians now about time,

do they keep those gold post boxes for ever or just a while,

i don't understand why they changed the rule for cycling when they don't change it for swimming, the olympics isn't amateur anymore its about seeing the best in the world compete,i was wacthing the ladies gymanstics who are so amazing they truly are, especially in the matrix cam,how the hell do they do these things but they are restricted to 2 a country i don't agree with this if for example 3 romanians are in the top six of the world,

i don't want to be a killjoy but please the aussie v england is the battle not great britain which is 4 countries, let the aussies join up with 3 other countries to make it a fair fight,i doubt the aussies give a monkeys about a scot winning anything i know i don't

i'd like to see a break down of england, scotland, wales Ni medals before i start crowing to the aussies

The Aussies have been dishing it out for years.  Now that we regularly kick their ass in cricket, won the rugby world cup against them in their own country and have beaten them at the last two olympics..... its gone strangely quiet.  They serve it but they cant take it.  I have a few aussie mates who are oh so quiet at the moment.  Its just banter.

You must be including this Olympics in the past tense since Australia finished fourth at the 2004 games , still although guys  beat us fair and square ,  it comes across like you have never been in our present position in the past ,  also to the victors go the crowing rights and the losers keep quiet  , Still what do you think has contributed to your impressive rise of the last 8 or so years  , I used to think that post WW2 immigration from the Caribbean and other Commonwealth nations being  the background for a lot of  your best sportsmen especially in Athletics was where your strength came from , but obviously that is no longer the case if it ever was.

Bronze for Adriana Araújo (woman boxing).

100th historical medal for Brazil in 22 Olympics events.

Nice! How many are Gold do you think? I'd imagine they'll be a few more as well this week (football, boxing, athletics), so it should make a good tally going into the Rio games!

And also, Ireland finally win their first medal. At last!

To be fair we had already won three medals in boxing, we just don't know what colour they'll be yet. We have a woman in a final today who will probably win and two men in semis who'll probably lose. Also, the guy that won the bronze yesterday is a drugs-cheat.

I recommend everyone watch my future wife Keri Anne Payne who is favourite to win gold in the women's long distance swim at noon today. I stumbled across this event at around 4 am during the Beijing Olympics. 10km of outdoor swimming, lasts around 2 hours. Loads of cheating, violence and disqualifications. Brilliant.

i'm not sure our carribean men win much at the athletics in the olympics to be fair, its mainly down to rowers and cyclists

Dang it, South Africa out before Oscar gets a go. Good for Team GB though, Belgium down to fastest losers, with the brothers there that is good for Britain's medal prospects.

EDIT: Now Jamaica are out too, I do love the unpredictability of relay.

Hmm, pie.

My first look at BMX racing. Pure carnage. Those guys and gals are mad.

Ouch on the Brazil BMX driver!
