Forums - Gaming - How Dirty are your controllers?

So my gf nagged me about cleaning my controllers cause they were dirty... mostly because I eat stuff while gaming.. so it has been building up dirt on the sides and grooves of my PS3 controller.. (yes honey you were right)

(actual picture of NiKKoM's main PS3 controller.. which is a glossy one not those uncomfortable matte ones)

BUT I know I ain't the only one! how are your controllers looking?

I actually cleaned out the crud of my PS3 controller recently with a toothpick. The dualshock was pretty dirty, must admit, but the sixaxis wasn't too bad. Guess I know which one I use more!

But yeah, yours doesn't look too bad to be honest. The R2 and L2 buttons were the dirtiest part on mine, and the whole seam around the outside.

Not very dirty, actual. I shall post a picture later!

for me i tend to obsess over cleaning my controllers and my PS3 every time i game on it which means once every a couple of days.

Funny, I was thinking about cleaning my main PS3 controller just last night. It's dirty in the same spots as you, just maybe not as much.

My wiimotes, on the other hand, don't seem to be that dirty even though I've had them for linger. They don't have grooves like the DS3 does.

I'd never eat food and grease up my controller! ew!

My dad eats while he plays and ugh..his PS3 controllers are always sticky. Mine aren't too bad, though there is some build up in the grooves on the side of the controller. The first time I ever cleaned in (with the led from a mechanical pencil) I was shocked to see how much...stuff there was in there o.o

BTW NintendoPie that is the most beautiful controller ._.

Mine are relatively clean these days. I go on these big cleaning sprees every few weeks and I'm really thorough when I do it. My PS1/SNES controllers--man, it looked like somebody took a big ol' shit on them, sometimes. I used to take them totally apart to clean them.

With that said, even though they look clean, I know there's something wrong with my favorite PS3 and 360 controller. My daughter is notorious for spilling a drink every single time she goes into my game room. I've forbidden any eating in there and yet it continues. My "a" button on my 360 controller sticks and my "x" button on my PS3 controller sticks. I don't want to take them apart, though.

Mine are clean (doesn't count being covered with billions of germs lol) I always misplace mine though, the problems of being cordless, it becomes like the ever disappearing tv remote...
