None, all religion has done is spawn death and suffering on a grand scale.

Oh, u made a mistake. Confucianism is NOT a religion actually. Confucius strived for participating in politics of those era. Basiclly Confucanism is a political ideology. And most importantly, there are NO GODS in confucanism.
However, personally, I dont quite like Confucianism.
I suggest u replace Confucianism with Taoism. But Taoism is quite comlex in Chinese history. There are two types of Taoism--one is like Confucanism and the other is truely a religion.
法家(Fa Jia)Chinese Legalism
道家(Dao Jia)Taoism
儒家(Ru Jia)Confucianism
兵家(Bing Jia)Military Strategism
墨家(Mo Jia)Mohism
... ...
家=school;genre
These were the main streams in ancient China between b.c. 770 and b.c.221
By the way, I am an atheist myself. It's my opinion that every religion has its own good sides but I am not sure whether we can call it a "correct" or not.

Actually, religious institutions (not the religion itself, because lots of them preach love and kindness) alongside with much more violence and death, has also brought much more goodness, salvation, advancement and knowledge than any other agnostic or atheist institution out there

You are wrong. The people are the ones who spawn death. (Unless a certain Religion directly tells people to kill one another for some dumb reason.)

That's what you have to do, Jay.
Though, my post is useless as you aren't being serious.

If I want to become religious, I should not just going to pick some random religion or pick the religion my parents pick, right? I should pick the one that makes the most sense. |
You using the word 'sir' makes me feel old. (
)
If you are seriously serious you should choose the one you feel is right. Go to certain churches and see what they have to say. If you find something, say it's Christianity, that you think fits you and your beliefs then that's what you go for.
