A spec is still pretty fun, at least until endurance series. How do you guys do the endurance series? I can not play that long straight. Also B spec is terrible, who thought it would be fun to give a driver a car and let them race for you and then they win u get money. I usually mute it and play a PC game or read a book while doing B spec.

I'm up to the Le Mans 24 hr on the endurance races. It was a struggle to get that far; 9hrs around Tsukuba is pretty boring! However, since they've added the ability to save when you come in the pit it's made it a lot easier. Annoyingly you can't play any other races until you finish the endurance race but I still prefer it to having to continually drive for an entire day. I used to hype myself up for at least a week before I could do an endurance race. I'm gonna give it a break and do some of the online events before I start on Le Mans.

I'm at the 9 hour Tsukaba one as well. The 4hr Nurburgring was over in a flash, seemed more like an hour while 4hr Tsukaba already felt like a day. Maybe I'll make my own endurance race with accelerated day/night cycle, 24hr is simply too much for me.
I might reach lvl 40 some day, but I'll stay at 97% game completion. The Vettel challenges are beyond my reach as well.

That's the same for me too. I managed Monza and Nurburgring, but Suzuka is beyond me. I also suck at drifting so the Loeb Rally challenge is just too much for me (harder than the Vettel challenges for me). I think I'll get onto Le Mans eventually but I'll seriously have to build myself up for that!

I actually thought that the Loeb Rally challenge was pretty easy. The Handbrake drift is GOD there XD.

I had trouble with Loeb Rally too initially, until I noticed that traction control had reset to 5 again. After I turned it off it was instant gold, saved almost 10 sec on the big mountain track. I love drifting along that track.
Nothing helped with the Vettel challenges though. I guess I need a wheel for that. It's too easy to nick the grass with one wheel with the controller. I did the Suzuka endurance race with the X2010 to get comfortable with the car but even after that bronze was still not reachable on Suzuka.

I never had that TCS problem, mostly because I play with all assists off. It's pretty much pointless to play with assists on challenges anyway, since they only cut down your times. It's better to suck and do mistakes for a while, trying to get used to no assists and improving upon that, than just bashing your head against the same time, over and over again.

Eiger Nordwand K Trail is one my favourite new tracks in the game, especially if you try it with the Suzuki Escudo Pikes Peak .

As for the X2010, I fear it's rather impossible with the controller, mostly because you just don't have the same minute reaction input that you need to control it as precisely as you need to get the Bronze time on Suzuka. Even with a wheel it takes both a huge amount of practice and very fast reaction times, because going around the S curves at 320 km/h or the Casio chicane at 140 km/h is pretty intense and any milisecond delay will lead you into making mistakes.

Useful info from both of you on the Loeb challenge. Might have to check and try it again.

I fucking sat 15 hours to get Gold on all Loeb. I felt on top of the world... Holy fuck was that long ass mountain in.. norway or denmark? (Eigar or smth XD) fucking hard!

Neither, Eiger is in Switzerland .

I loved that track, it quickly became my favourite Rally track on any GT game .

THATS THE ONE! xD at one point when u go downwards at loebs challenge, i constantly lost controll and had to like pray that i hit the bump sides with my ass as i generally wouldnt be disqualified if i didnt hit too hard LOL

That section was insane. It had a 10% incline descent with almost 90º turns in some parts xD. I did it by putting the car in Neutral at the top of the descent and doing acceleration control in 2nd shift during the turns. Got a second advantage over the gold time doing that .

And this is the difference between me and you. That wouldn't have even crossed my mind!

I'll try that... I'm sure I'll go nowhere, but I'm gonna try, lol.

Trust me, that took a lot of trial and error to get right, but that's one of the tactics that most Rally drivers use on high inclination descents on gravel terrain, to avoid loss of grip.

That's one of the great things about GT5, trying to apply real life approaches and see if they work or not.

Damn, never try to go back to a game that has had a gazillion updates since the last time you played it .

I've been since 9 AM (almost 10:35 AM now) updating GT5 and it's only at 25% >_
