Forums - Sony - A positive article about Sony's digital imaging

As a nice change from all the doom and gloom articles recently about Sony. I just read a postivie article on Sony's camera sensors...quote, "If Sony keeps it up we may see camera brands bragging about having a Sony sensor inside instead of just letting it slip out in a meeting or press conference, or having websites X-ray the sensors to find the brand."

lol I dunno what you mean man..look at all these pages and pages of replies

OT: great read...I actually had no clue how well that section of their business was doing tbh. Which was why I was a bit puzzled when I saw Kaz naming this as one of the three divisions that will lead sony's recovery plus also by the fact that they spent a lot of money to secure a facility related to this. Now it makes perfect sense. Good stuff

All Sony news are bad news, regardless.

Hopefully they build on this success

In 2010, Sony accounted for 33% of the world’s imaging sensor sales (both CMOS and CCD). In 2011 it was 37.3%.  Canon is a distant second with 12%. Samsung, at 11% is the only other manufacturer with over 10% of the market(9). And Sony has just invested a billion dollars to increase capacity in their Nagasaki plant to 60,000 wafers a month(10).

Sony moving into food produce confirmed. Put the Cell inside biscuits.

Positive

Has it come to this? Indicating that a Sony thread is positive in the thread title to let the readers know it's not another doom and gloom thread!

That will never stop the negative posters. That's it! We have every poster title their posts with either positive or negative!

I just meant in general (not even thinking about VGchartz threads) since negative articles everywhere, even in the mainstream news. And I did'nt mean "positive" in reference to the tone fo the article...just meant that Sony's imaging business is doing well, which is a positive (good news) for Sony.

it's not like MS isn't doing better I mean halo 4, gears, forza, kinect ...

Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.
