I see more potential with using a 5th person or Wii U controller in other genres more than Smash. Such as a FPS game where you command where the bad guys go etc. So it isn't just memorizing where AI usually or always is. I like your idea but I believe other genres might actually benefit more or be more exciting to be that 5th "player" or Wii U controller overlord. Basically, the person can help the computer AI be more smart and more spontaneous considering most single player gaming is usually just memorizing where the AI is and what it usually does. So it would almost be like multiplayer type of a game with a single player focus still.
