The rest of Sven post:

"In response to folks who are claiming we only "market" HD titles elsewhere in this thread (where often "marketing" is confused as TV campaigns and everything else is ignored), we had significant television and online buys backing MH Freedom Unite on PSP (how many PSP titles had a TV campaign, even first party?) and our largest Wii TV campaign on Monster Hunter Tri (larger than several multiplatform HD project campaigns we've run) and a number of MH "university" and other community/media outreach programs to teach people about the franchise. There's been no shortage of marketing effort on our fronts. As I've stated many times, growing MH in the West is a strategic initiative for us. Admittedly, the timings of things haven't always worked out exactly as we'd hoped but all will become clear soon enough.

As I've said before, there is method to the madness"

How this game became such a complicated matter to translate! It's surreal! It's just a game like any other

Bold kind of seems like he's hinting at a global launch for an upcoming MH game (MH4 probs).

Would make me so happy *tear*

Global launch might do a little to boost sales in the West, not a bad idea.

I thinking here... if Ubisoft can translate a game to sell 20k copies in Japan (Ghost Recon - and that number is the biggest Tom Clancy game ever there!), why the hell Capcom can't do the same to sell at least ten times more in america/europe?

Lol, it's really a surreal situation!

Dont think theres any chance for MH3 portable or HD, unless its a new version of the games based on 3G.

MH3G and MH4 are the most likely has they are introducing the series to a new audience, aswell as giving more MH to long time fans.

Portable 3rd HD, in english , as a vita game would cost them almost nothing & make them mad dollars, plus you know sony must be pushing (& would probably pay them too) for it.

I would prefer a new MH (as I have P3rd and P3rd hd already) but for cost benefit ratio its hard to think of a better tradeoff.

But as P3rd is commonly accepted as the 'best' of all MH games, its the logical choice

Sounds like a win-win for me. It'll be MH3G, unless a simultaneous MH4 release???

Nah.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

News. Not an actual game........Fuck you Capcom.

You havent informed yourself very well. The reason Monster hunter portable 3rd HD didnt come to the west was because Sony refused to update their adhoc software. I dont really think capcom will be thrilled to work with them to bring portable 3rd over. But if they do, they should release it digitally only and compatible with both the PSP and the Vita. That way it taps into a larger market and given monster hunter freedom unite is one of the top sellers on the PSN store for PSP, it would make some sense.

Snap!, its true I didnt know that

Well I guess we'll have to wait & see what happens, I'd really like to see a new one but if the first releases of MH4 are as watered down as the first releases of Mh3 (tri) were then maybe yet abnother version of a game I already have (twice) would be better. your recommendation seems like it'd be their best course of action

Capcoms a totally weird company overall, who knows what will happen
