So I haven't tried this game at all before (didn't want to play the Japanese version only to not understand anything). I've only tried the PSP games. Can anyone explain how the microtransactions work in this game? I'm sure there is such a system being free to play and all. I wouldn't like it if the only way to get a strong character is to pay a ton of money.

I'm very excited for this on VITA, I had such a good time with the original on the Dreamcast.

:( But you're going to make my head explode. FF X was primarily a console game. So as FF is an example, a series is not bound to consoles especially when it makes the jump to MMO.

Granted they can and have been ported to consoles, but that's secondary. The primary build was for PC.

PSO is not a MMO, its actually closer alot to playing MH than any MMO.  What does FF X have to with tthis?

FFX was released prior to FFXI, which was primarily a PC RPG, and closer to an MMO than anything. You said earlier that it shocks you to see a game like PSO2 go to PCs since the series was primarily on consoles, but I just proved you wrong with a counter-example.

Wait, what is the difference between online RPG and MMO?

Well, when I think about it, the PSP games had a certain MMO feel to it but they are definitely still RPG games. But PSO is online so wouldn't it be like an MMO?

Online RPG is a single player game with online features. in PSO case, you can play through the whole game/missions with other people.

MMOs (Massive Online Multiplayer) are usually based on servers where big numbers of players are together, MMOs offer no single player mode, also while the player is offline, the world will still evolve and changes/events will happen.
