I bought mass effect 3 at launch and downloaded the online pass. sold it after completing. Now if I buy a used copy of mass effect 3 will that online pass thats in my download list still work or is the online pass locked to the disc itself.
If yes is there any way around it.
No it shouldn't be locked for the game. It should be used with any copy.

It ties it to your account. If it was tied to the disk than there wouldn't be any point to it since buying a used disk would provide someone with online play. Though I'm guessing you are wondering if the pass is linked with some code on the physical disk, but that is not how they work. It's all account based, you can use any disk or a digital version and still have access to the online capabilities as long as you entered a code on that account.
Before the PS3 everyone was nice to me :(
