What I am trying to figure out if there is people out there that refuse to buy handhelds because they game to much on there console. Even vice versa people who dont play consoles because of handheld games.

I find myself at a 70% console love, 30% handheld.

That's not the case for me. Like I said, there are fewer handheld games that I'm interested in, but that more than justifies a purchase of a handheld. I just have to decide which handheld I would prefer to get, because I can't really afford all of them. Luckily, between my roommate and I, we have all of the consoles. I'm not too picky about what console (or handheld) I use to play games, as long as I can play the games that I'm excited about.

Some people who travel a lot prefer a handheld experience, either being 3DS or Vita, sure a lot of people (myself included) prefer to have games on a console, but that doesn't keep them for buying the handheld games they enjoy playing. I pretty sure most people play their 3DS and Vita's at home.

I actually spend more time on my Vita and 3DS at home than out and about, lol... I'll be sat in the same chair I sit in while playing on my PS36Wii but have a Vita/3DS/PSP in my hands instead lol... I like to sit and watch tele while playing portable games, weird but whatever.

lol you're not weird, I do the same xD

I prefer handhelds to consoles - always have done. It's a shame that so many people take handhelds to be 2nd rate gaming, when they're often superior imo

You want to know what can kill handhelds?

;)

I do understand your OP, but I see it working in reverse, where portbales become more dominant like in Japan :/

Normally i would say the console experience, but since ive had the 3DS ive started to slowly sway towards handhelds. I love the 3DS its awesome, to me it offers a console like experience with it being a lot more powerful than the original DS and obviously its portable ( a much better alternative to lugging around my Wii and PS3 on holiday)

I wouldn't say consoles have harmed handhelds, since they have co-existed for decades together; although since this massive rise of smartphones, it does seem that they have unfortunately been badly disrupted, perhaps forever,

The main feature of the PSP I used was the TV connection. Once I bought the cord for it I never played it on the psp screen again. I am hoping the Vita will get this option. It is probably just a bigger TV issue for me.

Yeah I understand what you mean, sometimes small screens are a pain for me to watch, that's way I didn't bought a DS until the XL and I going to do the same for the 3DS, It's just that I'm a console gamer more than a handheld one, but there are so many great games for the handhelds that I must play them as well.

Silver bullets, I guess. Silver kills everything.

As for me, I own everything. I heavily support my handhelds, too. I just play the consoles when I'm home and play the handhelds when I'm at wor......when I'm away from home. There's always a place in my life for handhelds.
