Vita has no true system seller until at least 2013; Call of Duty and Assassins Creed were not the answer, and if they want to regain market foothold, it needed to be this year....Last year at least the 3DS had 2 Marios and a Monster Hunter to keep it up worldwide.

Yeah, it will be interesting to see just how far down PS3 and X360 sales will have dropped by this time next year. Just coming out of E3 2013 and the new consoles being extensively shown I can't imagine many people picking up a PS360 during that summer.

About the Vita and COD and AC3, why do you say these games are "not the answer"? Isnt AC3 coming this Fall to Vita?

I'll pose you this question:

Assuming you owned a Vita and a PS3, would you buy AC3 in October on Vita, or wait 4 weeks and buy the console version on your PS3? Same thing for Call of Duty.

I would buy Assassin's Creed Liberation on the Vita and Assassin's Creed 3 on PS3, provided they're good enough, because they are both original games for those systems. Is this too difficult to comprehend?

The game who will make people buy the psvita is the games that peoples in gaming forum say it should not be inhandheld console like Assasin Creed and Call of Dutty.

I'm not sure what you are trying to say there.

When the highest selling game is Lego Batman 2 and sells only 118K in America, can you really blame people for being indifferent? :/

PS3 software sales seem high though compared to the 360, I would've thought they'd be much lower thanks to the huge lead the 360 has on the PS3 in America :S

Similarly, are PSV games not selling? Only 3 games in the top 100 and being outsold software wise by the PSP too :/

When your consoles HW doesn't sell well your consoles SW doesn't sell well.

These 2 IPs create most of their appeal on a larger console experience. It is not like GTA Stories, the lone exception to the rule (crime on the go!) Some things just cannot work as handheld experience and vice versa.

Also, are these games really going to SELL SYSTEMS? What makes them so good that I have to buy a Vita to play it? How can I not find the same experience anywhere else?

Assasins creed 3 and black ops 2 aren't coming out on the vita! They are 2 new games, that won't be available on any other consoles. Black ops declassified and Assasins creed liberation. there's many fans of each franchise so why wouldn't they want to buy these games?  A portable call of duty has many things going for it. Zombies on the go? Multiplayer on the go? Cross play? Remote play? This has never happened before and could be huge if done right. Same applies to Assasins creed. It's a unique game so why wouldn't people want to buy a vita to play it? Gta vice and liberty city stories were spin offs which sold very well so why couldn't it work for Assasins creed?

People say psvita should have many new ip and  handheld games to be succes and psvita has not that witch it is also a lie and can cited more then 10 new IP in psvita annonced but it seem it's not true Gravity Daze don't sell well despite the originality of the games so how can we say this uniques games will sell psvita.

The psp had the same siturion all best seller are spin off of home consoles series like gta witch sold in psp more then 7 millions and god of war chain of olympus 3 million.

PS4 - over 100 millions let's say 120m
Xbox One - 70m
Wii U - 25m

Vita - 15m if it will not get Final Fantasy Kingdoms Heart and Monster Hunter 20m otherwise
3DS - 80m

Call of dutty and assasin creed will sold and will sell more consoles then any new IP in psvita just like in psp.

That made me laugh at a high octave.

COD squeaked by 2m on the PSP and AC managed 1.5m, back in 2007 during the PSPs arguable peak year. Neither eclipsed 1m in America though...the kind of number it will take to truly start pushing consoles out the door during the holiday season on long-term. We are on VGChartz dude...look for some numbers.......

Yes, if I am a new customer. You are making a lot of assumptions of a potential buyer. Only a VERY few amount of people would buy two versions of the same franchise within the same like week. This is not like Mario Kart and Super Mario 3D kind of difference. The genre is not changing here. The handhled version just looks gimped in comparison.

Call of Duty thrives on online interaction. Which Vita game is pushing that forward as we speak? Nothing. And you expect this 3rd party game to start the trend? Look at what happened to Resistance.... Shoot, Activision themselves do not even know which team is making this COD game for the Vita. You cannot be serious! lol

Leatherhat on July 6th, 2012 3pm. Vita sales:"3 mil for COD 2 mil for AC. Maybe more. "  thehusbo on July 6th, 2012 5pm. Vita sales:"5 mil for COD 2.2 mil for AC."

That and digital sales being a relatively big factor for Vita.

They can't be much bigger. There isn't enough interest at the moment for them to add a ton to the current SW sales.

Later there will be interest, possibly.

A very poor week. The Amazing Spider-Man and Specs ops had very slow starts. Spider-Man could manage to sell a million copies but Spec ops can only reach it on all platforms together.

Since when is the Vita selling better in Japan then in NA or Europe

But the call of dutty and assasin creed in psp stiill sold better then any news IP in psp.

Call of dutty is more popular now then in 2007 and assasin creed in psp come in 2009 when the software was dying .

If I'm in the store looking at these games, I'm looking at the 'name change' and saying what is the difference really?

The GTA games were made by Rockstar; the quality is not the same in comparison. Also, the GTA series  was in general is WAY bigger in popularity back then then AC 3...or pardon me, Liberation is now.

Face facts, it IS NOT THE SAME!!!

LOL
