Just off the top of my head, the following devices will be available for purchase during holiday 2012. For the first time in a long time (if ever) so many portable devices will be vying for your dollars. There will be winners and losers as all these devices cannot win, what do you plan on getting?

Phones:

New Iphone

Samsung Galaxy S3

Samsung Galaxy Note 2

New HTC 'One' line

+ many others

Tablets:

New Microsoft Surface

New kindle fire 2

Nexus 7

Ipad 3

Galaxy Tab

Rumored Ipad mini

+the many assorated copycats

Video games:

3DS/XL

Vita

Man to be honest. Don´t buy a Tablet those things suck. And if you don´t travel too much I suppose you don´t need a 3DS or Vita neither. Stick to a Smartphone, the are practial very useful and some of them are pretty cheap.
