A well balanced system. Rath, for how long do you plan to keep it? Any plans to upgrade the GPU down the line?

Hoping to keep it for ~3 years before doing much in the way of upgrading.

@Andrew - does it make much of a difference?

@Zarx. How much difference is there between the 2500k and the 3570?

It's basically the same CPU just at 22nm instead of 32 and 100Mhz faster base clock, and draws 77W at peak instead of 95W. It's only a few dollars more so the power savings will probably end up saving you mony over the next few years lol.

Hi guys,

I'm putting together a computer and for the most part have no clue what I'm doing, so I thought I'd get you dear fellows to have a butchers at it.

The build I'm currently thinking of is as follows

GPU: Radeon 7870

CPU: Intel Core i5 2500K 3.3GHz

RAM: 2xCorsair Vengeance 1600MHz CL8 DDR3

Motherboard: Intel DX79TO

SSD: A-Data 500 S510 120GB

Hard-drive: Seagate SV35.5 ST2000VX000 64MB 2TB

Wireless Adaptor: TP-Link TL-WN881ND

PSU: Corsair CMPSU-650HX 650W

(I haven't listed the case, monitor, dvd drive or mouse/keyboard)

Is there any fundamental flaw in this build or any significant component that I'm missing? Is the power supply adequate for what I want?

Not a flaw, just an advice: if your case hasn't a built-in fan, add one, you'll extend the life of your system keeping it cooler.
Also: wear only cotton (or linen or other vegetable fibre) clothes, NO animal (wool, silk) or synthetic fibres, when you assemble it, to avoid accumulating electrostatic charges.
