I remember not so long ago when you were able to block an individual email and would stop recieving emails from them.

But now adays you can only move them to "junk", which is all well and good except you still get them. Thus defeating the purpose of junk filter.

Anyone know how to "permablock" an email address? on either yahoomail, hotmail or googlemail?

i just blocked some addresses a couple weeks ago on hotmail...

In hotmail, when you first log in, there is an "Options" menu along with all the other things such as inbox and send email. Click this.

On the left side of the screen, click "Hotmail" underneath show options for.

Then click Safe and blocked senders.

I heard rumours that "unsubscribing" only confirms the email exists and ends up getting you more...no?

Hotmail:
Options (Right handside) ► Safe and Blocked Senders ► Blocked Senders
Note: Block domain name, period. [Accidentally blocked vgchartz.com once! LOL!]

Yahoo:
Options ► Mail Options ► Spam ► Blocked Email Address
Note: Max 500 emails

GMail:
Settings ► Filters
Note: Even specify subjects, contents, or attachments

Nah, unsubscribe has always worked amazing for me.  Sometimes it will take several days before it takes effect, but I don't get any spam email in my email account, which is at least a couple years old.
