The Pixar movie line is neither here or there. Those movies are meant for everyone. MLP not only isnt meant for everyone but has a set gender and set age boundaries.

Hasbro has set age boundaries in mind, yes. Because they only care about toy sales. The creator of the show has a number of interview stating that her intention was for it to appeal to everyone
What qualities seperate a kids and adult show in your view?
When I watch something like the Big Bang Theory it is incredibly immature with sex references every other line and completely unrealistic depictions of the character's lives and actions.
@d21lewis
I respect that.

You know I have made this point before and you ignored it. However I have yet to see any proof at all that she intended the show to be for everyone before the brony thing happened and turned into an exploitable market segment.
In fact even when the brony thing had just started she still wasn't saying it. Interview here
''
Another challenge was meeting the perceived needs of our young target demographic. We had to figure out how to make the more adventure-y shows compelling and exciting without being scary. It took some extra thought and a combination of careful storytelling, lots of jokes, and appropriate, appealing designs. Tone adjustments helped as well - like lightening a scary situation with humor and whimsical design, or making an otherwise non-threatening scene more tense with art direction, music, and proper timing. ''
'' . And Luna, though good, was meant to be associated with darkness and night - and these are considered (by some) to be iffy themes for a show for young girls - so she had to slide to the wayside. ''
Taken from a post by her
''The messages I’m really trying to get across with the show are these:
- There are lots of different ways to be a girl.''
'' Cartoons for girls don’t have to be a puddle of smooshy, cutesy-wootsy, goody-two-shoeness. Girls like stories with real conflict; girls are smart enough to understand complex plots; girls aren’t as easily frightened as everyone seems to think. Girls are complex human beings, and they can be brave, strong, kind and independent–but they can also be uncertain, awkward, silly, arrogant or stubborn. They shouldn’t have to succumb to pressure to be perfect.''
The only thing that even vaguely backs the idea that it was made to be enjoyed by all ages is that she says she likes the idea of all-ages entertainment. However even then she doesn't say her show was made that way but simply that she likes the idea of it. This is even after the brony thing though. The only other statement I can find vageuly supporting the idea of it being for everyone is that Hasbro wanted parents to be able to enjoy it with their children. Which is most definitely not creating a show for everyone.
I have said this to you before that I have no problem with bronies, only their childish embarassment about what they like. Rather than admit it is meant for young girls they always protest and try and claim that the creator always intended it to also be for them. They can't simply be happy and enjoy what they like rather they have to try and justify it and change what the thing is. There is no embarassment in liking things made for different audiences yet bronies always act like there is by trying to pretend the show is something it isn't.
Well that and when they make claims that it is the greatest thing ever achieved by humanity which I find insulting to a vast number of achievements.
