Forums - Sony - PS3 Exclusives: GC Spotlight

Exclusives are a very important in defining a console. These exclusive experiences that are locked to one console may sway you to buy one console instead of another. So  it’s important that the likes of Sony, Nintendo and Microsoft keep a regular stream of top notch exclusives to not fall behind. It’s fair to say that all three companies have taken a different route in what type of exclusive they’ve given us and in this article we will put Sony’s PS3 exclusives under the spotlight.

2011 was a good year to be a PS3 owner. A good year indeed.

A few things:

"The ill-fated Lair and Heavenly Sword were also released to a slating from critics, receiving and average critic score of 53% and 79% respectively."

I don't remember Heavenly Sword getting a slating from critics. I seem to remember most of the criticisms were that it was short, and it had no online play.

It was an interesting read from a 'facts and figures' perspective, if that's what you were going for.

It got 79% so it wasn't a slating as such. But everybody was expecting it to be 90% plus because of the hype.

2012 was a decent year as well. Twisted Metal and Starhawk are not that bad, and Tokyo jungle looks like a big surprise.

saleswise it is not really
Twisted Metal sold just 500k

and Starhawk is not even in top 100 anymore too bad

sales wise no. I still can't believe WarkHawk only sold 1 million. I wonder what it sold digitally. I bought mine off the store.

Good job we're gamers and not Eat Sleep Play and Lightbox Interactive's accountants, then!

True! But it's annoying when proper good games don't sell.
It's another step to a company not taking risks and releasing a cod clone to make sure it sells.
