Forums - Gaming - The Amazing Spider-Man looks hot. I think they got Batman beat.

Well, aside from the Spider-Man character model, the graphics are average or below. The camera goes frickin' insane in some indoors environments. Combat is a little sketchy. It's like they copied off of Batman's paper but made a lot of spelling/grammatical errors. The swinging mechanic is imprecise but somehow waaay to simple. The voice acting is annoying, especially Spider-Man.

And yet, I love this game. I spend more than an hour of each play session just swinging through New York and thinking how much they nailed it. I took on a trio of Spider-Slayer robots this morning and I thought to myself, "This is great!" And the more I play the game, the more it opens up and gives you more stuff to do. No, it isn't fit to hang out on the same shelf as the Arkham games but that doesn't matter. Right now, I'm enjoying my time filling Spider-Man's spandex tights.

And today, I'm going to buy at least one more Spider-Man game! Not sure which one, though. Web of Shadows, Edge of Time, or Shattered Dimensions. To Metacritic, I go!

Around the Network

I have only one question: does it have Spiderman Bowling? The answer to that question is the answer to whether or not I will buy it.

Played it and was kinda annoyed by it. Camera is way to close too Spiderman and getting around the city is no where near as fun as in Spiderman 2. The weird predator vision or what ever thing is kinda cool at times but at the same time it'sorta feels like the devs said "People are too stupid to be spiderman... let's give them an auto spiderman action button... and force them to use it".
