Forums - Gaming - HD Twin fans: What would make you buy a Nintendo Console?

For me I have just stopped enjoying the art direction and feel of the games, I brought a Wii on release day in 2006 just for Zelda as that was my childhood favourite game ... I didn't finish it.

For some reason I didn't like the feel of the controls with the wii mote, it might of changed with wm+ but I didnt get to that stage before I sold the console.

I won't be buying WiiU day one because of the wii, but I will be watching closely if they can do a full fledged zelda game like their cgi demo or near I will probably be interested.

I know I will enjoy the latest iteration of Mario Kart but I will need a few more games which could not be done before and are not just updated.

I always assume the mature audience are those who averse to gaming before this generation and consistently throw insults to gamers. Now, when gaming became more mainstream, the same crowd has to justify their buyer's remorse and thus classified themselves as a 'hardcore' audience.

Unless you are one of those people who aims to game on the best possible platform, this means most multiplats on pc, and unless you are willing to play all genres, you are far from my definition of 'hardcore'. But to each of his own.

Uhhh?  Correct me if I'm wrong but are you saying hardcore gamers mostly play on the PC?

No. ALL hardcore gamers play exclusively on pc. F2P MMOs and Facebook games FTW.

@ MDMAlliance

The term 'hardcore' was never distinct nor prominent until this very generation, I'm not exactly sure why so I made a wild assumption. The tag 'mature' serves more than a simple discription to these gamers, it justify their hobbies which they previous deemed as childish. And I'm not implying hardcore gamers mostly play on PC, I am saying they are willing to seek for the best possible available platforms for the games they are interested in, like choosing Watchdog on Wii U if it offers what the other versions don't. That's my take on 'hardcore' audience.

@Homer

Aye, don't forget all the delicious games on windows like Internet Checkers.

Do not allow yourself to be blinded by fear and anger. Everything is only as it is.

I think a few people have already seen me say this...

4-5 interesting, great looking games, including at least 2 new IPs + Good TP (especially indie) support.

1. ZombiU
2. Pikmin 3
3. ?
4. ?
5. ?

(A 3D open world pokemon game, kinda like a bethesda game, featuring the 1st/2nd gen pokemon that are playable in battle, is something I want so damn badly it'll take up three slots)

TP: It's looking good, but still not clear if it'll get continued good support.

Indies: I know nothing about this. PSN and Steam provide excellent great for indies, XBLA is good as well. Wii U needs to match those high standards.

Oh and £200 is the most I'll spend on it.

Hardcore gamers are gaming hobbyists. They enjoy challenging games. They are the backbone of the industry essentially.

Oh lol. That was just someone else who filled it out, putting the games they like in. I'm still 3 games and indie support from buying ;P

a super high budget Pokémon MMO for a home console

and I'd like to see Nintendo start a high budget "dark" IP - all other IPs can stay like they are, they don't need to change at all
