Forums - Sony Discussion - Ueda speaks about The Last Guardian.

Right now I feel like the best case scenario would be it moving to PS4 like Ico moved from PSX to PS2. But, I still fear the more likely worst case scenario. With Ueda leaving it will quietly be canceled and forgotten about as Team Ico is closed down forever. I really hope that doesn't happen because Ico is my favorite PS2 game. I didn't care for SotC, but Ico was briliant and The Last Guardian looked to have some Ico similarities.

Sadly this game will struggle to cross a million. The hardcore fans here and on other forums will hype it up. However the game will recieve no advertising and will fail to sell. The final product will be great (impossible to meet expectations) but will be a commercial failure. A PS4 HD Remake will come out and sell a few more copies.

Versus 13 is going down the same path except will have a bit higher sales.

Too bad but I know I will really enjoy the 6 hour experience

I can wait! I'm about to get the Ico HD collection in my mail next week *___*

I've been planning on getting that collection. I never played ICO, because by the time I became interested, it was selling for so much on Ebay, I stayed away. But I loved Shadow.

If you have a PS3 , order it on Amazon for 19.99 *_*

Deja vu. :P

I really hope this game doesn't become overbaked (from being in development for so long) or feeling like a bunch of separate elements thrown together (from the separate teams working on it) but my hype for this game is almost non-existent. =(

Duke Nukem' Forever?

Do we know anything about the gameplay yet?

Yes, Famitsu had a demo they detailed, report was on Andriasang. Sounded amazing, but who knows what the game will be like now.

I think I remember Yoshida saying that the game is almost finished, and they are mostly trying to resolve technical issues, so I'm guessing it's a bunch of engineers from Santa monica that are helping out.

Was the gameplay similar at all to either Ico or Shadow?

Quite different. It was all about interacting naturally with Torico, using a combination of physics/AI/scripted behaviour to get through situations - traversal and combat. Also mentioned that the boy cannot fight - you can run into the guards so they lose their balance, and then run away, but also that getting captured by those guards wil not necessarily end the game.

That sounds pretty cool.

At this point, they might as well re-purpose the game for PS4 as a launch title. It could then have Evergreen sales for entire console lifecycle instead of just the end of it.

Zelda Twilight Princess is the highest selling Zelda game to date (released as launch title for Wii)
Zelda Skyward Sword is one of the lowest selling console Zelda game to date (released in last year for Wii)

BTW, Shadow of Colossus also released near end of PS2 lifecycle and therefore didnt have the kind of success that games like GTA 3 had which released earlier.
