Yes, Famitsu had a demo they detailed, report was on Andriasang. Sounded amazing, but who knows what the game will be like now. 

Was the gameplay similar at all to either Ico or Shadow?

Quite different. It was all about interacting naturally with Torico, using a combination of physics/AI/scripted behaviour to get through situations - traversal and combat. Also mentioned that the boy cannot fight - you can run into the guards so they lose their balance, and then run away, but also that getting captured by those guards wil not necessarily end the game. 

That sounds pretty cool.
