Nintendo is destroying the industry since they aren't serious about online play.  I mean GC started out selling well at first too but duct taping two of them together will fail once HD adoption rates go up.  By then PS60 will get price cuts and the Wii is done for since it's just a party fad and has no actual games.  Seriously no games, all the real games are on PS3/360 not garbage like WiiFit.  Everybody knows Wii only sells because it's cheap, might as well be free and sell millions quickly!  The Wiimote is a gimmick and 3rd parties know it so they won't support the Wii.  Nintendo probably knows it too since they are abandoning the hardcore according to Pachter.  All they put out are minigames for stupid casuals and VC games are just overpriced rom dumps.  Once legit games like Gears of War 2 and KZ2 and MGS4 come out the tide will turn and Nintendo won't be able to keep milking profit from inferior hardware.  They'll have to start over and probably release two other consoles before PS3's ten year plan ends and both of those other consoles will only have nintendo games as those are the only ones that sell like WiiSports which people will be tired of soon.

only someone like u would believe that. Wii has done too many good things to prove that it's not a fad. PS3 and x360 are fads they can't even keep up. Wii has won. Sony and mircosoft have failed. They both should take some lessons from nintendo.

Well, check out as many European retailers as you can and tell me how many have Wiis in stock. Go ahead, I did it with online retailers and I didn't find any in UK, France, Germany or Portugal (and I didn't check Amazon only).

The Wii is obviously supply constrained during this week, they must be restocking the retail channel as fast as they can.

 


Well, in Austria, Poland, Czech, Slovakia and Hungary there are plenty of Wii in stock, but that's how it always was in this regions.

Here is Nintendo what is Xbox in Japan.

Can't speak for the other countries, but the latest Gfk numbers for Austria (November 2007) I have seen had the 360 at 47k LTD, the Wii at 38k LTD and the PS3 at about 25k LTD if I remember correctly. These numbers suggest that Nintendo is definitely much more popular in Austria than the Xbox/360 in Japan.

The PS 3 performance before price cut was bad, even many hardcore fans can't afford it. Now the situation is better, but the price is still high. I am still talking about this five regions.

 

You can talk about numbers from gfk (November 2007), but it's like saying Xbox 360 outsold PS3 in Japan and then PS3 outsold Wii. You must live in this regions and see for yourself how people perceive the console market. You are from Austria, so if you look around (Czech, Slovakia, Hungary aren't that far from you) you will see that people mostly talk about PlayStation as the home console.
