Bethesda announced that an enhanced version of Doom 3 would be coming this fall, but they didn't provide a release date beyond that vague time frame. That's changed.
The game is releasing Oct. 19 on the PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360.
The BFG adds a host of improvements over the 2005 original. Most noticeably, the graphics have been given a visual overhaul, with support for 3D displays. The game includes both Doom 3 and its Resurrection of Evil add-on, as well as seven new levels dubbed the Lost Mission.
If you're not up to speed on Doom's history, the BFG edition also packs in the original Doom and its sequel.
