Forums - Sales - PSP Euro Price Reduction!!!

From Friday 4th May (less than 2 weeks away), Sony will be reducing the RRP of the PSP from £149.99 to £129.99.

In addition to this, Sony is reducing the price of the Platinum range from £19.99 to £14.99 and is releasing 5 new Platinum titles to go along with the launch.  Ridge Racer 2, Tekken Resurrection, Killzone, Locoroco and Moto GP.

I think this is a very sensible thing to do.  And £130 is a great price for the PSP.  Also with the release of new platinum titles and the £5 reduction, there is a very good chance that a fair few people will be picking up a PSP in the near future.  Also seeing as most decent retailers were selling the platinum range for £15 or less anyway, I can see a fair number of £10 games on the market sooner rather than later.

Shame I got Tekken and Killzone at Christmas, although I will probably pick up Locoroco if I can get it for a tenner.

Prediction (June 12th 2017)

Permanent pricedrop for both PS4 Slim and PS4 Pro in October.

PS4 Slim $249 (October 2017)

PS4 Pro $349 (October 2017)

TBh i dont think £20 off will have much effect i think sales would really pick up if it was £99.99.

Nice £15 games tho, sales might increase a bit afterall ;)

Thing is though.  Amazon are doing the PSP for £135 at the moment, so thats a £15 discount on the £150 RRP.  So when it comes down to £130, I fully expect to see retailers doing the unit for £120.

But you're right.  £99.99 is much more attractive, but have to say, getting a PSP and 3 platinum games for £150 sounds damn good!!

With killzone liberation at £15, that should shift some units, as should Locoroco, in fact, those are probably the best two PSP games out there.

But I think the price has got to go level with the DS if it wants to win, although at this price it should compete better. And MGS Portable Ops and Ratchet and Clank are certainly coming soonish.

Platinum line is great right now. I've just bought Daxter (this game is incredible as for a handheld - I have a full trust in God of War for PSP - these guys are just great)... I own Tekken, Killzone and Syphon Filter though... Yes, PSP + Tekken, Daxter and Syphon Filter for less than 150 sterlings - Wow!

I agree with nearly all of that. I've also got nearly all those games (apart from Syphon Filter), although you are missing out on Locoroco

But doesn't most part of European people still pay more for Psp than it was at launch at U.S. ?

Nothing's cheaper than something free.

F1 vs FOTA, when too much power is in couple peoples hands.

So??? the R.R.P of the PS3 is equivalent to more than $850.. Also, the PSP Value Pack launched at £180, so this is £50 cheaper than launch, although it is the base pack.

Well currently UK residents pay in comparison $250 (not including tax or VAT) for the PSP, this will come down to around $215 so even with the reduction, the UK residents are paying $45 more for the PSP.  But this is what we are used to.

There is no excuse for US residents not to be picking up PSP's now.  If we could pick them up for £100 at the moment, there wouldn't be any left on the shelves.
