Well this year even in units Japanese market is far ahead as gaming market in UK has pretty much crashed (12,075,878 vs 19,262,000 units).

Its population is 2:1

So that's about right then....

Japan: 127m
UK: 62m

why is that particular comparison in your headline? odd choice.

Weren't you one of the guys that said UK was set to become the 2nd biggest market and that Japan was declining?

Errrrrrrrr...... Nope.

Go back a few posts...

Wheres Turkey?  population 72m (bigger than the UK)

The govt is heavily taxing every form of foreign entertainment, PS3 is converted still 500 euros there. Much like Brazil, but they're population is thrice as big as ours.

Yes he was.

Now hes changed his tune by saying per captia. Which doesnt even make sense, eg is the Lichtenstein market bigger the the US if the average spend there is higher than the average spend in the US

All bow to me the VGChartz current reigning 3DS prediction champion

Bet with tbone51: Pokeon X & pokemon Y will not sell more than 8 million in 2013

July 2009 daveJ saidTrue the wii has a large lead now but by 2017 the most likely result will be 1. ps3 2. xbox360 3. wii <-- wii's successor launched in 2011 effectively killing sales of the wii

2009 daveJ said: The wii will not break the 50% marketshare barrier it will go below the 40% marketshare barrier though in the future. VGChartz members: Impossible, youre an idiot that knows nothing about sales

I knew the south Koreans are game crazy, but this is ridiculous
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Video_gaming_in_South_Korea

In South Korea, video games are considered to be a major social activity

What's even more interesting about Sk is how much of that is focused on the PC market compared to home consoles and handhelds. Really is an outlier in so many ways.

Lol at your sig, the last comment. I remember if you ever dared question Wii's superiority people would get mad at you. They were so sure the Wii would outsell the PS2 and eventually hit the 200 million mark.

ahhh right... so the according to someone who actually othered to check.. this list is a load of nonsense anyway...

Big OOPS

Actually doesnt take long to check.. US was $16.6bn.  UK was about $4bn... and Japan?  $5.9bn

so its 1.5:1 (Japan:UK)

UK is much much bigger per capita then... glad thats sorted.

What's your source and what do the numbers include? Did you read the breakdown in the link provided? I should have posted the breakdown in the op but my pc is out of commission and i dunno how on my current browser. You seem unnecessarily worked up.

edit: those numbers you listed are all included in the breakdown but there's also more info added from downloads, browser games, mobile etc.
