That just seems kinda lazy, PSN is catching up to XBL, origin is trying to catch up to Steam...

this, everyone seems to be trying except for them and its a damn shame

Who isn't trying?  Nintendo looks like they are, to some extent, trying something different.  Will need to see how their service works.  Maybe it will do something.  In regards to Microsoft, they keep rolling out new features.  Will need to see what IE on XBox will mean, and Smart Glass.

WHats different?? ALl i heard them talk about was Miiverse, which just sounds like a souped up version of HOME which has been available for years. Why must they be different in the first place??? WHy?? I would just settle for something similar to PSN/LIVE that is almost as good. It seems everytime they try to be different it starts off great and fizzles out quickly. WiiSPeak is just one example, why not have had a real mic like everyone else in the damn world. Or why not have had an account for online titles like EVERYONE else, instead they had it tied to the system, cause that was much better

To be fair MS and Sony will have catching up to do as well. I dont know of any other console that can pause a game, call someone on your friend list and video chat with them. I really have no idea what Iwata meant by catching up with the competition cause there are games that demonstrates basic online features similar to PSN on the Wii.

this makes no sense, Ninty doesnt have a product out there that does this. So WHO is PSN/LIVE catching up with?? Or are you referring to PC?? If that is the case, no one will catch them, ever. Thats the problem with WIi it was only BASIC online features, while the comp started with that and expanded, hence the catching up

Well if you watched Nintendo Direct before E3 you would see the guy demonstrated what i just explained. PSN and Live has no video chat in the middle of gameplay. I have a feeling you missed the point i was trying to make?

So to sum up
better dwnloadable games (that based on your opinion of which games are better), more apps (better also?), Netflix? Achievements? Cross game chat? pretty crappy features imo
i just want to play online games without lag
of course Live and Sony wathever are better than Wiis online service, but i dont see why are instantly better than what WiiU is going to offer...

I never said better, read more. I said MORE..of everything. Thats the point those services offer more than WiiWare does. Play games online without lag?? Me too and im doing that on PSN, and then some.

If you know that WiiWare is worst of the 3 why even argue? I didnt say they were instantly better. Im just saying I have little faith in them from their PAST actions. ANd the whole "PSN and LIVe too far developed for us to catch up" quote doesnt fill me with confindence

didnt see that part, Ill check it out later, but honestly. I wont buy it until i see it in the finish, Ninty has shown cool features of things before and never followed thru. BUt i hope they do

More is not better
if WIiU offers a lag free online service, for me is perfection, since none of the features you previously mentioned are not even slightly appealing to me...
Video chat is something i would care for...

I agree with you that they have no excuses though. PSN was rebuilt in less than a month when they were hacked. I see no reason why Nintendo cant put features that people might want to enjoy better online.
