Holy shit. Nintendo is going to invent internet forums.

I was asking who is not trying.  Am I right in reading this that Microsoft and Nintendo both don't seem to be trying?

Not Microsoft, just Nintendo (concerning online services)

"MS has been tweaking and improving their online for years"
in which ways
also if you want online why dont you buy a PC instead?

no SF, Tekken, BlazBlue, KOF, pretty much the entire fighting genre is not on it. not that much racing games. PC is not the end all be all, they are missing alot

But what Nintendo offers is more than enough to play those games online..
What has Live that others dont?

CGC, XBLA is second only to Steam imo, it's communication/social systems are the best there is. Invitations/party systems are just so convenient.

Well Live doenst have stupid friend codes for one that right there, is better than what Ninty did. The library of games released on the Live network is alot more than what comes to WiiWare. There are more apps for Live than WiiWare. It didnt take forever and a day for Netflix to arrive. Achivement system for those who care. Cross game chat for those who care. AN actual account and not some crap where all your purchases or stats are tied to the system.

THis is too much fun. If one has been satisfied with WiiWare for the past few years, then good on them. But to have the audacity to compare it to the other two, is simply bias. Hell, some of Ninty games dont even work online (Smash Bros.)

That just seems kinda lazy, PSN is catching up to XBL, origin is trying to catch up to Steam...

this, everyone seems to be trying except for them and its a damn shame

Who isn't trying?  Nintendo looks like they are, to some extent, trying something different.  Will need to see how their service works.  Maybe it will do something.  In regards to Microsoft, they keep rolling out new features.  Will need to see what IE on XBox will mean, and Smart Glass.

WHats different?? ALl i heard them talk about was Miiverse, which just sounds like a souped up version of HOME which has been available for years. Why must they be different in the first place??? WHy?? I would just settle for something similar to PSN/LIVE that is almost as good. It seems everytime they try to be different it starts off great and fizzles out quickly. WiiSPeak is just one example, why not have had a real mic like everyone else in the damn world. Or why not have had an account for online titles like EVERYONE else, instead they had it tied to the system, cause that was much better

To be fair MS and Sony will have catching up to do as well. I dont know of any other console that can pause a game, call someone on your friend list and video chat with them. I really have no idea what Iwata meant by catching up with the competition cause there are games that demonstrates basic online features similar to PSN on the Wii.

this makes no sense, Ninty doesnt have a product out there that does this. So WHO is PSN/LIVE catching up with?? Or are you referring to PC?? If that is the case, no one will catch them, ever. Thats the problem with WIi it was only BASIC online features, while the comp started with that and expanded, hence the catching up

So to sum up
better dwnloadable games (that based on your opinion of which games are better), more apps (better also?), Netflix? Achievements? Cross game chat? pretty crappy features imo
i just want to play online games without lag
of course Live and Sony wathever are better than Wiis online service, but i dont see why are instantly better than what WiiU is going to offer...
