It's a questione that i made myself before reading an article.
I'm quite disappointed to see that people think that hardcore goes with graphics and the also next-gen goes with graphics.
For me the WiiU is next-gen because introduces an old way of play, the GamePad, in a totally new way, the screen and the in build double screens.
This is next-gen because never before you could play a game with the TV on OFF, also you totally have a console that has every game on digital support, on retail copy and on digital support by retailers, that's pretty new too.
Next-gen means that the whole system works differently from the previous one, hardcore it's not a term for console also, not alone at least, you can only give that term by mentioning games that are not kids stuff or really easy even for a 3 to 7 years old.
That's what i always thinked about games, i made my opinion playing the SNES and now that the GamePad is coming, in such an innovation, that's what i will call next-gen also: innovation.
And now also a question: are you sick of people not understanding this or you are one of 'em?

Who would want to download WiiU games anyway? WiiU has only 8GB storage. With only 1 game your WiiU is full, and it has not to be games like Mass Effect 3 wich are 15GB.
The WiiU is next gen becoz Wii is current gen. But technology wise, Wii was not different from the GameCube, and WiiU has finally catched up to the current gen HD consoles.

How are you able to store games on your PS3? By paying a LOT extra to have a hard drive, correct? And without that HDD, your system has zero storage, yes? WiiU is going to give users the option of hard drive, allowing you to have 2x or even 3x as much space - because you can buy what you want from where you want - for the same price. I know exactly where I'll be able to throw down $60 and have a full terabyte of storage for my WiiU. Can you do that for your PS3?
8GB of storage space is just what the WiiU has without you doing that, and anybody who actually thinks that the 8GB is what the WiiU is limited to is, quite frankly, a complete idiot.
