OK, so I read most of it and it was for sure a great read.
I actually asked about the Uncanny-Valley in another thread and what a coincidence! You post a great article about it. This is very interesting CGI. You should be a Writer!

Apparently, there's confusion with this post Pie.

Just so we're clear, I didn't write the article, I posted it because I support it and have written similar pieces in the past for the site:

2009 Thread

2010 Thread

2011 Thread

Oh... well I knew you didn't come up with all of it. But I thought you wrote some of it. Sorry. XD

I've posted this elsewhere before, but this is the best place to ressurect it.

at least facial expressions of robots are better now than those of people using botox. with other words: looks more real than some humans

I don't know if you made any more recent threads on the subject, this is what Google gave me.

Anyway was wondering what your thoughts are on Mike:

He definitely looks a bit uncanny to me, which is impressive that that's already possible in real time. The close ups are actually quite convincing. The mouth movement feels off though and too much blinking going on. Very cool stuff.

This thread is over 5 years old.

Well it's good to see the progress!

First I could only find the 2009 thread, so 2012 is an improvement :) The search function of vgchartz only goes back 90 days if it works at all... The scary thing is those threads don't seem that long ago. Where does the time go :/

Looks pretty believable to me

Original

Digital copy

Not enough wrinkles and teeth look weird.

Anyway seems VR has sparked a new interest in creating digital humans.
