Forums - Microsoft - Am I the only one worried about Halo 4 after the E3 preview?

Well if Halo is more linear and scripted then it will probably mean the resolution can finally be 720p provided the frame rate target is 30 and not 60...like COD.

I hope the Halo sanboxy + vehicles gameplay remains otherwise it will be just like any other shooter out there.

I agree, it could be that this opening snippet doesn't represent the complete game very well.

But I am afraid they have implemented this style to most of the game to a large degree. The tempation is too big (COD is very successful).

Keep in mind, the opening of all Halo games are very linear and corridor-y. You don't get to wider areas until some ships crash.

Yeah, I sure hope that the Halo makers outsmarted me. I am crossing my fingers!

All Halos have a healthy mix of corridors and open world environments. It was clearly a semi scripted demo (like the ending), meant to showcase new things. Cortana talks as much as she ever did.

Some people just wanna poke holes.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

@Slimebeast The demo is a tight, constrained and dense set of encounters to introduce new elements - in the shipping game those events will have more air. Encounters will often be as big, sometimes bigger than traditional Halo areas. Lots of exploration and biiiig spaces for vehicles - also true for Spartan Ops.

Cortana kept talking... and talking... and talking... constantly putting her two-cents in every two-seconds of gameplay. It was ridiculous. She sounded more annoying than Navi from OoT.

Am I the only person who's worried that "Fleshing out Cortana and making her a more integral part of the game" actually means "Cortana's going to be talking to you..a lot... constantly... have fun."?

I don't want digital Navi 2.0. Did no one else mind her constant talking?

I like Cortana and I'm looking forward to Halo 4 expanind on her character.

You can't really compare Navi and Cortana. When Navi talks the game stops and you can't do anything but scroll through her statements. When Cortana talks you can run around, shoot, and do what ever you want. Cortana doesn't stop the game.

I personly like Cortana as a character, enjoy her banter, and find Jen Taylor's voice pleasent and entertaining.
